Neuropathic pain is one of three main pain types experienced by man. It is neither nociceptive pain (healthy pain protecting the body) or nociplastic pain (dysfunctional centralised pain related to Fibromyalgia). Neuropathic pain results from damage to the somatosensory nervous system (either peripheral or central or both).

It is characterised by pain that does not respond to anti-inflammatory’s (as it is NOT inflammatory nociceptive pain). There are several conditions that sit with NePain in the trigeminal system.

Endodontics can cause debilitating chemical nerve injuries and can be prevented, This presentation provides an overview of how specifically nerve injuries related to endodontics occur and can be prevented.
